26. An Everyday Meditation to Change Your Life

 

Over the past 25 episodes, I’ve spoken about mindfulness, meditation, and having a self-care practice because all of these things are imperative for entrepreneurs. Building a business means mental drama and personal growth as you become the best version of yourself. Today, I’m sharing a meditation I do regularly that helps me with all of these things.

This meditation is about connecting down to Mother Earth, and then moving up to connect with your higher self. I’ve used this practice for 15 years now and it’s helped me reconnect to own spirituality after years of difficulty and shown me the path to moving forward, and my hope is that it will do the same for you.

Welcome back, spiritual entrepreneurs. I have a special little treat for you today. Over the last 25 episodes I have talked a lot about mindfulness and meditation and having a self-care practice because all of that is imperative as you’re building your own entrepreneurial business, because we can go through all sorts of mind drama through the process of building our business, as we are developing our skills as we’re moving forward in our lives to become the best versions of ourselves.

So today, I wanted to share with you a meditation that I do on a very regular basis. As I mentioned in one of my earlier podcast episodes, I do four things every single day. I do meditation. I do gratitude. I do affirmations. And I do positive reading.

So if you’re interested, I want to share a meditation that I do on a very regular basis where I connect down to Mother Earth and then I connect up to my higher self. And this is a practice that I have done over the last 15 years. And it is also what helped me reconnect to God, source creator, whatever you want to call it, and helped me reconnect to my own spirituality, to reconnect to my source creator, and to help me through the process of moving forward in my own life.

So I want to share a meditation with you today. And I hope that you enjoy it. I hope you come back to it regularly. This, again, is a meditation that I do almost every single day, I rotate a few. But I wanted to share it with you today so that you can make this part of your daily practice, if you don’t already.

Little disclaimer, make sure you do not do this meditation while you are driving. Make sure that you’re either home or in an office or stopped completely in a parking lot or something else while doing this meditation. All right, you guys, enjoy.

All right, begin by taking a deep breath. So take a moment and get comfortable. Settle into your couch, or if you have a meditation pillow, lying down on the ground. Whatever feels most comfortable to you.

And I want you to begin by taking a deep breath in through your heart. Slowly close your eyes and exhale. Place your hands over your heart and inhale deeply once again. Exhale. Become aware of your beautiful, magnificent body. Inhale deeply and exhale.

Bring your breath in through your heart. Imagine a brilliant, golden light before you. Feel the tremendous love emanating from this light. Begin to inhale this magnificent light. Feeling your entire body. Your belly, your legs, your arms, your chest.

Inhale every pore, every cell, soaking up all of the love. Inhale until every pore, every cell, every ounce of your being is fused with this golden light.

Inhale deeply through your heart, soaking up all of the love, joy, peace and harmony. Inhale, filling up your entire body. Exhale. Inhale again through your heart and visualize this light descending as a pillar of golden light through your body.

Exhale. Inhale. Let this energy flow within and through you. Down your legs, through your feet and towards the center of the earth. Exhale. Continue breathing in and out, pushing this light like a spiral all the way down to Mother Earth. With each breath connect, ground and feel your bond to the core of this beautiful planet.

Imagine this light grounding you through the heartbeat of Mother Earth. Root and ground all of your energy and light. Stay in this moment continuing to breathe in and out. Feel the peace, love and support.

Remember your true essence, your connection to all that exists. Inhale all of the love and safety life has to offer you, feeling your heartbeat and the heartbeat of this beautiful planet in sync together. Inhale deeply and begin to draw this magnificent, grounded light back up through the earth and into your body.

Inhale deeply and begin to draw this magnificent, grounded light back up through the earth and into your body. Inhale it, imagining the light spiraling back into you from Mother Earth through your feet, up your legs, to the base of your spine, through your belly, your heart, your throat, your forehead and finally to the crown of your head.

Inhale deeply and exhale. With your next breath, imagine this beautiful light spiraling upwards in a counterclockwise motion through the top of your head. Exhale, pushing the energy upwards. As you ascend, feel your body becoming lighter, bathed in this column of golden light.

Inhale, pushing the energy upward until you connect with the highest version of your magnificent self. See this divine being before you. Pause here and feel the soul connection with the truest form of who you are, remembering your divinity, connecting to pure source, power, light and love.

Inhale this amazing energy. Exhale. Connect heart to heart, soul to soul with this divine being. Feel the love, the connection, the support. Inhale deeply and thank your higher self as you begin to spiral the energy back down into your body in a clockwise motion feel grounded, full and light.

Begin to bring your awareness back to your body. Begin to wiggle your feet, wiggle your hands. Take a deep breath in, feeling your Buddha belly and exhale. Inhale deeply one more time. Exhale. One final time, inhale deeply. And exhale slowly, opening your eyes.
